The Hoornse Plas is a shallow recreational lake south of the city of Groningen (Haren), with walking paths, beaches, wooded areas and a dike. On weekdays (1 October to 1 April), dogs may run off-leash here; at weekends they must be on a leash. There's a paved path suitable for wheelchair users and a pavilion nearby.
