Off-leash area near the Dobbeplas; the beach and shore strip of the lake itself remain off-limits to dogs.

The municipality of Pijnacker-Nootdorp's Designation Decision on Dog Policy Outside Built-up Areas 2020 (Aanwijsbesluit hondenbeleid buiten de bebouwde kom 2020) designates 'Hondenbos Dobbeplas' as an off-leash area where the leash requirement does not apply. At the Dobbeplas lake itself, separate, stricter rules apply: dogs are banned all year on 'Dobbeplas, strand' (the beach), and from 1 April to 1 October on 'Dobbeplas, plasrand' (the shore strip). The adjacent Natuureiland Dobbeplas nature island is also off-limits to dogs all year. Outside built-up areas, dogs in Pijnacker-Nootdorp may otherwise also run free as long as they remain under control.
