About this place

Centuries-old woodland of more than 200 hectares on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug where dogs may run off-leash (with a periodic leash requirement).

The Zeisterbos is a 201-hectare woodland, more than 200 years old, on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, with pleasant walking paths. Most paths are wheelchair-accessible, and there are also horse-riding and mountain-biking routes nearby. Dogs may run off-leash here year-round (max. 2 per handler), provided they stay under voice control and cause no nuisance, except on grazed plots. Because of wildlife management on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, a periodic leash requirement applies from 15 March to 15 September in the Zeist woods. Parking is available, among other places, near the visitor centre on the Prins Bernhardlaan or near restaurant 't Jagershuys on the Woudenbergseweg.
