50-hectare off-leash area for dogs with woodland and heath, just north of Deventer above Schalkhaar.

Wechelerveld is a former cavalry training ground of about 50 hectares, now largely laid out as an off-leash area for dogs, with a mix of woodland and heath as well as narrow forest paths and wider tracks. Dogs may run off-leash everywhere, except in a fenced section of about 2 hectares. There's a pond where dogs can drink, and the area is partly wheelchair-accessible. Parking is available along the Wechelerweg.
